SpongeBob creator Stephen Hillenburg diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)

Stephen Hillenburg, creator of the long-running hit Nickelodeon series 'SpongeBob SquarePants, has revealed that he has been diagnosed with the neurodegenerative disease ALS.

The 55-year-old animator shared a statement through Variety, announcing the diagnosis and his plan to continue working on the series, which has been on the air since 1999.

'I wanted people to hear directly from me that I have been diagnosed with ALS.,' the statement reads. 'Anyone who knows me knows that I will continue to work on ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ and my other passions for as long as I am able. My family and I are grateful for the outpouring of love and support. We ask that our sincere request for privacy be honored during this time.'

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, or ALS, is a neuro-degenerative disease that affects the neurons in the brain which control voluntary motor functions, it has no known cure now and the life span of its victims are usually short.

Batman star Ben Affleck says he's completed treatment for his 'alcohol addiction

Actor and filmmaker, Ben Affleck popularly known for his batman role has revealed he has completed treatment for his 'alcohol addiction'. The actor in a statement on his Facebook page on Tuesday disclosed the update on his treatment:

"I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I've dealt with in the past (Ben Affleck treatment for his alcohol abuse in 2001) and will continue to confront. I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be. I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step. I'm lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I've done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery, the statement added.

The cash was found by the EFCC on monday packed in sacks but according to intels the ownaer of the money ran away because of his inability to authenticate claims to the cash, by not knowing exactly how much is in the sack or even the source of the money

The cash was discovered by EFCC Zonal Office in Kaduna in five large black 150kg sacks during routine baggage screening at the airport.

Another source said the EFCC was working on clues that the fleeing suspect might be a courier for a syndicate.
“We will get to the root of this crime. There is a way we can collaborate with some agencies to trace the source of the N49million.
“We will also deploy forensic equipment and retrieve CCTV footage at the airport to identify the suspect,” the source said, pleading not to be named so as not to jeopardise the investigation.

Cancer cure: Australian court finds blogger guilty of deception

A Court in Australia on Wednesday found a wellness blogger, Belle Gibson, guilty of deceiving and misleading people on  using natural remedies and nutrition to cure cancer.

The disgraced health personality, who made tens of thousands of dollars selling books and a mobile app about her miraculous recovery, was taken to court by Consumer Affairs Victoria after it was revealed that she never had the disease.

Justice Debra Mortimer said during the judgment that Gibson, 25, may have “remained under some kind of delusion that she had cancer.”

“She may have had other psychological or psychiatric issues.

“Those possibilities are reasonably open on the evidence. I am not persuaded on the evidence she was acting unconscionably,’’ Mortimer said.

However, the judge also found Gibson guilty of using vulnerable groups, including a terminally ill five-year-old, and engaging in misleading or deceptive commerce to sell her wellness products and boost her own image and success.

Gibson had promised “a large part” of everything her company earned would be donated to charities.

“Gibson’s company, between 2013 and 2015, earned 420,000 Australian dollars (318,000 dollars) from sales of the app and the book and of this figure, but only 10,000 dollars was donated.

“(Gibson) deliberately played on the genuine desire of members of the Australian community to help those less fortunate,’’ Mortimer said.

Gibson had claimed that she cured her cancer with Ayurvedic medicine, oxygen therapy and a gluten and sugar-free diet.

She has been absent from court since case was brought against her in 2016, with no lawyers representing her.

Consumer Affairs Victoria is seeking for Gibson to pay a fine and publish an apology in newspapers acknowledging she lied.

The Trump family may not be getting much love at home but over in China, Ivanka is a huge draw. According to cosmetic surgery professionals in the country, women are so impressed by her looks they are having plastic surgery in order to look like her.

Chinese companies are cashing in on the trend with many of them lodging applications to use Ivanka's name to sell their business.

One company stole a march on competitors with its clever branding. The Foshan Yiwanka Medical Management, shares characters with the Chinese spelling of Ivanka, making it a very popular business name right now.

The medical center specializes in facial cosmetic surgery and also in liposuction and breast augmentation. Its resources manager Li Yunxing said: 'Young women in China like to change their looks to copy film stars’ eyes, noses and lips.'

'No doubt young women here want Ivanka’s big eyes, her pretty nose and lips and her flawless figure.'

Adoring fans back home in America aren't left out of the Ivanka craze. Last year, two Texan women were revealed to have already spent tens of thousands of dollars. Tiffany Taylor, a 33yr old mother-of-three and aspiring socialite has had breasts implants, cheek fillers and a nose job to appear more like President Trump's eldest daughter. She says she's modelling herself on Ivanka's 'classic features'. Jenny Stuart, a 36-year-old from Houston, said she admired the 'classy, pretty' woman.

Both Ivanka wannabes visited plastic surgeon Dr Franklin Rose in Houston to achieve their new looks and he said demand for the Ivanka look is high. He said: 'Breasts or nose or face, she has such a pretty face shape.

This is not the first patient that's come in with a picture of Ivanka Trump. She is very beautiful and she's very poised.'

Taylor, who works in the oil and gas industry says she has spent $60K on liposuction, breast implants, fat grafts and cheek fillers and recently underwent an eye lift and nose job. Stuart on the other hand has shelled out $30K on Brazilian butt lift, breast enhancement, nose job and fillers in her cheeks.

Over the past four months, Dr Rose said the name on all patients' lips was that of Donald Trump's daughter.

'She's the star of the media at the moment and she's disarmingly beautiful. You get a lot of J.Lo, everyone wants her buttocks, but over the past four months it's been all about Ivanka.Most patients under 45 come in with pictures on their cell phone to show me,' he added.

It appears the looks of first lady, Melania Trump aren't as coveted as those of her step daughter.
Dr Rose said:

 'Melania's face is a little severe. She gets a lot of Botox, I think Ivanka and her might go to the same surgeon because Ivanka has had fillers and Botox over the years too.'
